Chongqing Liuyishou Restaurant – Kung Hei Fat Choi

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

18th February is the date for Chinese New Year this year. So what else would it be for us, some Chinese hotpot place… and before winter in UAE ends. We need to eat Chinese for good luck and long life!

I have been to this place quite a number of times. I even had an opportunity to be with Arva and friends for lunch some time ago. But the ladies, except for Hyden, does not have any idea where it is.

There are quite a number of hotpot places opened in and around Deira just this year. But for us, this is still one of the most ‘authentic’ hotpot place we keep on coming back.

There was a comparison between what we had previously with Yuashuan Restaurant , this time, you have to order all the ingredients you need before cooking it. Previous post was a ‘set’ where you order a hotpot and they place all the ingredients to cook. There is a pros and cons like Yuashuan was cheaper and Chongqing is a bit more expensive but you know what you will put inside your pot – you have a choice!

We arrive for dinner with an empty stomach with an excitement of filling it up with something amazing. We ordered as it should be, base soup, mushrooms, noodles, beef, tofu, and kangkong.

Then we have asked Awal (the Bangladeshi Waiter) who knows what you should have for a sauce. He goes thru all the ingredients, add some more stuff and ask if we need more. And he speaks good English!

After filling all our tummy with some hot soup and some filling engridients, we left with a smile. We greeted the Owner/ Cashier and we bit everyone: Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Happy New Year everyone and you may have abundance of blessings in the year to come.

Word of advise going there: Park your car in the nearby parking or in Al Ghurair Mall. It is quite tricky to get there but it is only 2 blocks from the Fish Roundabout going towards Naif.
